On 26 June 2026, Lularides, as part of the Lulalab ecosystem, proudly joined Harmony Gold Mining Company Limited for the launch of the Harmony & Lulalab Foundation Last Mile Delivery Pilot Programme, a partnership focused on unlocking opportunities for young people through skills development, mobility, and meaningful employment.
South Africa’s last-mile delivery sector continues to grow rapidly, creating new opportunities for young people to participate in the digital economy. This pilot programme has been designed to ensure that 100 young people from Harmony host communities are equipped with the knowledge, practical skills, and support needed to access these opportunities.
The programme goes beyond providing motorbikes. Participants will receive SETA-accredited entrepreneurship training, motorbike rider training and licensing support, work-readiness development, ongoing mentorship, and direct access to employment opportunities with leading delivery platforms. By combining accredited training with real-world placement opportunities, the programme creates a pathway to sustainable livelihoods rather than short-term interventions.
For Lularides, mobility is about much more than getting from one place to another. It is a powerful enabler of economic inclusion. Reliable access to transportation allows people to connect with employment opportunities, generate income, and build greater financial independence. Through this partnership with Harmony and Lulalab, we are helping remove barriers that have traditionally limited access to work, while empowering young people to participate in South Africa’s growing last-mile delivery economy.
The programme launch also received coverage on Soweto TV, highlighting the shared vision behind the initiative and its potential to transform lives. The feature explores how collaboration between Harmony, Lulalab, and Lularides is creating practical opportunities for young people by connecting accredited training with real earning opportunities in an expanding industry.
As the programme begins, we look forward to following the journeys of all 100 participants as they develop new skills, build confidence, and create brighter futures for themselves, their families, and their communities.
At Lularides, we believe every young person deserves the opportunity to build a future they can be proud of. Through partnerships like this, we are proving that when organisations work together with purpose, we can create lasting impact—one opportunity, one rider, and one community at a time.
