From UIF Opportunity to Permanent Success: Noncebo Ceba’s Journey with Lularides

When Noncebo Ceba, a 30-year-old with a matric certificate and a passion for learning, came across the UIF opportunity on social media, she was actively searching for employment. Having previously worked in marketing and possessing basic computer skills, she saw this as a chance to grow her career and gain hands-on experience — and that’s exactly what happened.

💼 Building Skills Through Opportunity

Through the UIF-funded New Venture Creation programme, Noncebo was introduced to both classroom learning and practical workplace experience. Her practical placement was at Lularides, where she was exposed to real business operations — from fieldwork recruiting drivers to office-based monitoring of delivery systems.

“I learned how the OneCart system works and how to manage driver operations effectively,” she shares. “The Lularides team was always supportive and willing to help us understand the system and processes.”

Over time, Noncebo developed key professional skills — including advanced computer literacy, communication, planning, and time management. “Working with drivers every day taught me how to communicate clearly and stay one step ahead,” she says. “When challenges came up, like unavailable drivers or fuel issues, I learned to think fast and find solutions.”

🚀 Transitioning to a Permanent Role

Noncebo’s dedication and growth didn’t go unnoticed. Her strong performance and commitment led to her being offered a permanent position at Lularides — a major milestone in her career journey.

“I was thrilled to be offered a permanent role,” she says proudly. “My responsibilities now include monitoring drivers on the system, ensuring orders are delivered on time, and capturing new driver applications for OneCart and Woolies Dash. It’s a big step, and I’m grateful for the trust Lularides has placed in me.”

🌱 Personal Growth and Gratitude

For Noncebo, this opportunity is about more than employment — it’s about personal and professional transformation.

“This role means so much to me,” she reflects. “It’s a chance to develop my skills further, take on new challenges, and contribute meaningfully to the company’s success. I’m proud to be part of the Lularides team and excited about what lies ahead.”

💬 Message to Other Youth

Noncebo has a heartfelt message for other young people entering UIF programmes:

“When you get this opportunity, use it wisely. Be willing to learn, ask questions, and show your team that you’re capable. Don’t get distracted — your situation is not the same as your friends. Focus on your growth.”

Her story is a shining example of what’s possible when opportunity meets commitment. At Lularides, we’re proud to see learners like Noncebo turn training into transformation — and build lasting careers through hard work, learning, and purpose.
